Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: 20 June 2025  |  Effective Date: 20 June 2025

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully before engaging Domestica for household records coordination services. By submitting an enquiry through this website or by entering into a written engagement letter with Domestica, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Definitions

2. Acceptance of Terms

By signing or acknowledging an Engagement Letter, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement. You accept these Terms and Conditions and any terms set out in the Engagement Letter, which together form the complete agreement between us.

3. Service Description

Domestica provides household records coordination services, which include sorting, grouping, labelling, indexing and writing administrative documents such as inventories, document maps and orientation notes. These services are administrative in nature. They do not constitute, and must not be treated as, regulated professional advice of any kind — including legal advice, financial advice, tax advice or any other advice requiring a professional licence or registration.

Services are delivered in person at the Client's home address, primarily within Negeri Sembilan. Availability in other areas is subject to prior discussion and agreement.

4. Client Responsibilities

5. Payment Terms

All fees are quoted and payable in Malaysian Ringgit (RM). The fee for each engagement is a flat total as set out in the Engagement Letter. There are no variable charges, session minimums or add-on costs beyond those stated in the Engagement Letter.

Payment arrangements — including deposit requirements, instalment terms and accepted payment methods — are agreed at the enquiry stage and confirmed in the Engagement Letter before sessions begin.

If you wish to cancel before the first session, the deposit is non-refundable unless Domestica cancels the engagement. If sessions have commenced and you choose to discontinue, fees for completed sessions are payable in full; any balance relating to undelivered sessions may be refunded at Domestica's discretion depending on the circumstances.

6. Scope and Changes

The scope of each engagement is defined in the Engagement Letter. If you request changes to the agreed scope — such as additional rooms or a change of programme — a revised Engagement Letter will be issued and agreed before work on the additional scope begins. Domestica will not proceed on an expanded scope without written agreement from both parties.

7. Confidentiality

All Domestica coordinators are bound by a confidentiality undertaking. The contents of any household session, including the nature of documents handled and any information incidentally observed, will not be disclosed to any third party except where required by Malaysian law.

Digital copies made during a session for indexing purposes will be transferred to household-owned storage and removed from coordinator devices before the coordinator leaves the household. Domestica will not retain copies of client documents after a session closes.

8. Intellectual Property

The written deliverables produced for you — inventories, document maps, orientation notes, open-questions registers — belong to you from the moment they are handed over. Domestica retains the right to use the general methodology and systems developed in its work, but will not reproduce or reference specific client deliverables without consent.

The content of this website, including text and design, is the property of Domestica. It may not be reproduced without written permission.

9. Disclaimers

The Service is provided as administrative coordination and general information only. Domestica does not offer professional advice of any kind, does not interpret documents for legal or financial purposes, and makes no statement about the legal validity, completeness or significance of any document handled during a session.

Domestica does not warrant that the deliverables produced will be free of errors or that they will meet any particular legal or professional standard. Where a document or matter requires professional advice, you should consult a qualified practitioner independently.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Malaysian law, Domestica's liability to you for any claim arising out of or in connection with the Service is limited to the total fee paid by you for the engagement in question.

Domestica will not be liable for indirect, consequential or special loss, loss of profits, or loss of data. This limitation does not exclude liability for fraud, personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

11. Termination

Either party may terminate an engagement by written notice. If Domestica terminates without cause, any fees paid for sessions not yet delivered will be refunded in full. If you terminate after sessions have commenced, fees for completed sessions remain payable; any balance for undelivered sessions is handled as described under Payment Terms.

The confidentiality obligations in these Terms survive termination.

12. Dispute Resolution

If a dispute arises, the parties agree to attempt to resolve it by informal negotiation in the first instance. Written notice of the dispute should be sent to [email protected]. If the dispute is not resolved within 30 days of written notice, either party may refer the matter to mediation under the rules of the Malaysian Mediation Centre.

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Malaysia. The courts of Negeri Sembilan have non-exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms.

13. General Provisions

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, the updated version will be posted on this page with a revised date. Changes do not affect engagements already in progress unless both parties agree in writing.
